GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Every year, Trails & Vistas Art Hike consists of a slow paced moderate two- to three-mike hike featuring 8 to 12 art or performance sites along a two to three mile trail. Arthikes depart every 15 minutes guided by a Trail Leader. Each art-hike lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours and requires that hikers traverse over uneven terrain  at high elevations.
  • Hiking shoes, water and appropriate attire are recommended. This is an outdoor event and subject to varying weather conditions.
  • The following are not allowed: Cell Phones, Video, pets or photography equipment.
  • We love dogs but due to the nature of this event, we ask that you leave Sparky at home.
  • We're sorry, but photography is not allowed

Each hiker is encouraged to slow down, breathe deeply and listen to the language of nature during Trails & Vistas. Art hikes will be offered every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 8.

Specialty hikes include family hikes for those hiking with children, meditative hikes for those wanting an especially quiet and spiritual connection (adults only) and leisurely hikes for those who prefer or need a slower pace.

Tickets are on sale for the Trails & Vistas Art Hike “Reflections” at the Pacific Crest Trail on Donner Summit and the 10th Anniversary Concert at the Truckee Amphitheatre on Saturday evening. Advance purchase is highly recommended (the art hike event has sold out every year). Tickets cost $30 for adults and  $10 for children.

Weather - what if it snows?
Sierra weather can be unpredictable. This event will not be canceled because of weather. We will forge ahead through rain, shine and snow. Should weather or fire conditions become UNSAFE, coordinators reserve the right to change the date or times of the event.
