Lesley Ehrenfeld Chapman creates site-specific dance installations and guides workshops on the beaches and forests of coastal California and the Lake Tahoe Basin. Calling upon the natural landscape to inform her work and guide her movement, she develops rich dialogues between humans and the environment. Through this creative process, personal life themes are revealed and explored, often connecting with universal themes.

Lesley worked closely with dance pioneer, Anna Halprin (1920-2021) for over 20 years as a student and performer and is deeply influenced by her teachings. She is trained in the Tamalpa Institute Life/Art Process and is a certified yoga instructor. Lesley is also a freelance art director and wardrobe stylist. Her commercial work can be seen at lesleyehrenfeld.com. Lesley lives on the Central Coast of California with her husband and two sons.

The trees have eyes takes place within an ancient aspen grove and plays with the theme of inter-dependency within communities - both human and environmental.  Joined by a complex root system, The nutrients and health of each Aspen is shared by the entire grove.  similarly, the health and balance of a  given culture is shaped by each individual within it.
