Volunteer with Trails & Vistas

We love our volunteers.

We couldn’t do what we do without you.

For over 20 years our volunteers have helped our participants, students, and audiences experience arts in nature. There is so much work that goes into creating the Trails & Vistas experience and we can’t do it without your help. Please join us for Trails & Vistas annual fundraiser, Truckee's Historical Tour in October!

Volunteer Roles

Art Hike Trail Guide & Storytelling Historical Guide

Our trails guides are an integral part of the Trails & Vistas experience. They are the guides that circumnavigate our trail system on the mountain and along historic downtown in Truckee. They are the leader of a tribe of participants and the storytellers.

Base Camp Host

Each of our events requires a lot of customer service. From check-in at the Art Hikes, to ushering audience members at the World Concert, to herding groups together for the Historical Haunted Tour. Trails & Vistas can use your support.

Artist Assistant

Our artists need your support. Our art sites along the 2 mile trail often require a lot of hiking and carrying a harp or drum or artwork and can use a helping hand. Consider being an Artist Assistant for the Art Hikes, and the Dreaming Tree Field Trips.

Safety Caboose

If you enjoy hiking and can help keep the flock together and safe, then safety caboose is a perfect role for you.

Parking Helper

You are the first smiles our participants will see. We are looking for people that have parking attendant experience. Small stipend offered for helping organized parking.
